This simple Automator workflow applies the magic of tags to your own documents in the Finder. Save this as an application to enable drag and drop tagging, or as a plug-in for right-click tagging. Tags you give to files and folders are immediately accessible to Spotlight searches. Nifty!
I came upon this post from a purely non-honyakyu avenue (Getting Things Done).
Maybe we need a honyaku_GTD_OSX...group!

Would be nice if there was an obvious way to download this somewhere on the page...

Sorry, I don't plan to make it available to download. I was hoping to inspire you to fire up Automator and make the tool yourself. Give it a shot!

What a brilliant and simple to organize it. So far I've only saved all my images (and I collect quite many of them) in iPhoto and tagged them there, but now I'm gonna try to actually tag all my files. Well, the important ones at first.
Another idea: Instead of always typing in the same keywords (for example: pictures I wanna tag as 'typography example' you can create an automator action with this words typed in already, so use safe another seconds or minuts probably ;)
But first of all: Thank you for this inspiration! I might overthink all my routines...
